Meet the hoomans behind Paws and Pastures!
Cierra & Gianluca
If there was a stray dog within a five-mile radius, chances are Cierra was trying to bring it home. Her love for dogs started before she can even remember—quite literally rescuing strays as a toddler while living in Mexico. She grew up surrounded by dogs, even spending part of her childhood with a babysitter who bred Golden Retrievers (so we like to think puppies were always part of the plan!). For the past three years, she’s worked in dog rescue and fostering, helping pups from all kinds of backgrounds learn what it means to be loved, spoiled, and part of a family. Now she’s taking everything she’s learned from the rescue world and bringing that same heart into raising puppies of her own.
Gianluca, meanwhile, has yet to meet a dog he doesn’t immediately become best friends with. He’s had the opportunity to work professionally alongside trained police K9s, giving him a whole new appreciation for just how smart and incredible dogs really are. Then Cierra introduced him to fostering…and the rest is history. Somewhere between the revolving door of foster dogs and an abundance of Golden Retriever hair on absolutely everything, he officially became a Golden guy. 🐾
Together, we’re two dog-obsessed people raising our family in a home where four-legged family members are just as likely to be on the couch, under our feet, or tagging along on the day’s adventures. Our background in rescue, fostering, working alongside K9s, and a lifelong love of dogs has shaped the way we approach our breeding program: raise them with love, do right by our dogs, and give every puppy the kind of start we’d want for one of our own. 🤎
Meet our Littlest Helpers
Our breeding program is truly a family affair—and if you ask our kids, Mom and Dad definitely aren’t the ones in charge.
Emmy — Director of Operations (AKA The Real Boss)
Quick, witty, and never short on instructions, Emmy keeps all of us in line! She has an incredible way with animals and is always ready to jump in for puppy snuggles, playtime, or to let us know when we’re clearly doing something wrong. She may be little, but around here, her management position is taken very seriously.
Caleb — Head of Food & Hydration 🐾
Caleb helps make sure everyone—two-legged and four-legged—is fed, watered, and taken care of. Animals have also played a really special role in Caleb’s life. As an autistic kiddo, growing up surrounded by animals has been an amazing part of his growth, confidence, and connection with the world around him. He has a gentle heart, and we love watching the bond he shares with our animals continue to grow.
Baby Sofia — Puppy Snuggler in Training
Our littlest team member isn’t quite ready to clock in yet—unless drinking bottles and supervising from someone’s arms counts. While she may not have an official job just yet, Sofia will grow up right alongside our dogs, puppies, and this little business of ours. We have a feeling it won’t be long before she earns her first official title!
Our kids are a huge part of why we do things the way we do. Our puppies aren’t just around a family—they’re raised as part of one, surrounded by kids, animals, everyday life, plenty of chaos, and a whole lot of love.
